The company already has the printing press to produce what they need. I know they have a small press and they were looking at a couple large models. The largest produces 1 mill units a month. Based on the recent calls this was the model they chose to purchase. Now they are working on setting up the plating lines. The company said on a Call earlier that they had Promised to have the first plating line up and running early in the first qtr. Each plating line will handle about 100,000 units.
My question is who did they promise to have a plating line up and running for? Could it be someone that is going to want uniboss in the second qtr? They said they will be ready to manufacture 60,000 units a month in March, 175,000 in May, 700,000 in Aug and 1.3 mill a month in Dec. Lets hope the first qtr is filled with surprises that will cause the company to be capacity constrained as we grow.
The numbers that kc quoted are all 'units per month' in 2013. One unit is one square foot, which is approximately one tablet/laptop or 15 phones. Therefore, if the first plating line is up in 'early Q1' (lets say January), they could potentially have enough screen for 60,000 * 15 = 900,000 phones per month in January/February.
It is important to note that the deal that recently went through had 'limited exclusivity', which, in this case, implied that the company wanted first dibs on all product if there was a capacity issue. They would only due this if they were expecting a capacity issue, which would only be the case if UNXL already knew that they had atleast one more customer lined up and ready to act.
