If Craig Hallum is correct then we longs have won total victory behind the scenes

the other day they put out a release saying they "believe" that dell has made the first of the milestone payments to unipixel. If you understand how stuff like this works in the real world then you should know that when they say they "believe" that the payment has been made what they actually mean is that they have a trusted source either inside dell or Unipixel who has told them that Unipixel was paid. They just can't come out and say that in public.

Consider what is required for dell to switch its product line around to a new type of touch screen. Volume production has to be set up for the new type physical screen itself Hardware changes and production changes to make the base notebook, laptop, whatever comaptable with the new screen. Sofware rewritten to make the base notebook, or whatever, correctly decode the feed from the new screens.

Switching over products to a new type screen costs dell a lot of money and takes a lot of time and effort. Furtermore, the production of the new screens has to come into being in a time match with the production of the new base laptops and whatever. You can't make the base products and then find that you have no screens to use with them. Not only a loss of all the money and effort, but dell is left without finished product to sell.

The dell payment has been made to Unipixel and this means that Unipixel has proven to dells complete satisfaction that it can make the production shedule for product (60k units end April and wahtever it was in june, etc) that dell requires for its changeover to Uniboss screens. It also means that dell at this very moment is in the actuall early stages of making the product shift to Uniboss screens.

Total victory for the long side, and total defeat for the bear side, has ALREADY OCCURED. Just waiting on the public PRs and nothing else.

    • best post on this board in forever; very well stated captain; the timetable reed laid out coincides with the williams timetable where dell needs product by june in order to begin production on the dell fall school line of pc's

also, i think the eco partner has to be either msft or intc given reeds' comments that unxl targeted the eco partner right after signing with the pc maker, dell; msft provided 2bb in funding for dells buyout and i believe dell pc's all run intc chips

aapl is definately out of the picture and goog too

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

      • Not sure your compliment is deserved but I thank you for it.

I had been on the lookout to see the first dell payment come in for awhile now.

After I started buying the stock I started to think of what things I should be looking for as indicators of how good or bad things might be going with Unipixel and Uniboss. As part of the things I wanted to be looking for I realized that if Unipixel ever got this first payment from dell then the whole issue is settled then and there.

    • So....let's get this right. They "believe" that a payment by Dell has been received?? My interpretation is they are "hoping" a payment has been made or they're simply trying to pull the wool over people's eyes b/c there will be NO PAYMENT. I choose the latter. A sucker is born every minute.

    • Bingo! Nicely stated. Companies don't make changes to product design, restructure their manufacturing processes and lines and make milestone payment's if they aren't 100% completely satisfied with the product they're paying for. Dell, or whomever it is, has paid the first $5 million installment to UniPixel and they're ready to throttle up production.

    • Keep in mind who is dealing with DELL right now.

Note that Killian stated the UNIBOSS screen gives added area for touch sensors, which is critical for Windows 8.
This snowball just keeps rolling down hill, building up momentum and taking down the shorts in its path.
