Well 2 for sure.
1) potentially partner number 3. We all have heard that the company expects partner number 3 at some point. Hopefully soon.
2) more manufacturing lines. I don't anticipate this announcement until July. But not more than 2 months away.
3) Dell approving the samples and ordering real product delivered by Sept.
Those items are the big catalyst for UNXL this summer.
Hypothetically, if UNXL has to DELIVER product in September, does anybody (with some sort of experience in these manners) know when a PO should be expected? weeks ahead of time? Months ahead of time? TIA
Obviously it depends on the order quantity and design readiness.
But certainly, Uni-Pixel has everything ready for the first PC OEM design(s) - as they have been working together on that for many months - including getting the printing and plating lines fully ready for at least 60k/month. So to deliver modest product quantities to sensor manufacting .. it could be as little as days beween PO and Pixie product out-the-door, IMO. I say that since the Pixie process is fast, only a couple steps, and already tooled and tweaked-in for that first design. I don't have a handle for the time-line for downstream processing, like die-cutting, tab bonding, etc. and ... which could add weeks to months to get display product to the PC OEM for final assembly.
Keep in mind that a Uni-Pixel PO is likely coming from the sensor manufacturer (after they receive an order from PC OEM or ODM) and not a PO directly from PC OEM partner to Uni-Pixel. Orders usually trickles down the supply chain, not directly from final end user.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
unique situation here; i wouldn't think the po would be issued until all the lines are up and running and unxl can give dell some solid numbers on production capacity
hard to issue a po when you don't know how much the other guy can deliver;
lines at kodak installed in july, tested, etc
po in aug???
just in time for the q2 call/report; wouldn't that timing be great?
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I don't know CH but I do know that the next CC will be very interesting. I think that Reed will be apt to disclose more information than usual about the near term business plans and objectives.
