Someone close to the tech side of cellular tells me that the most attractive way (LTE) to get high data rates (video streaming) will raise average power consumption. The volume presently occupied by a VCM camera will look REAL attractive for more battery. [and incidentally, silent air cooling may get looked at as device warming starts to become dramatic). One factor slowing MEMS adoption may be that it benefits from finer features in the image sensor, and those have not kept up with Moore's law.
