Since there isn't any useful statement, I'll just mention another settlement, this one with AMD: "Tessera Technologies (TSRA) announced that its Tessera subsidiary has entered into an agreement settling all pending litigation with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). The specific financial terms of the agreement are confidential."
If anyone's watching, check me on this. The settlement MAY moot the re-examination of Tessera's expired flagship patents. That re-examination is potentially A Big Deal because any change in the granted patents could trigger all sorts of [costly] legal actions.
Looking at it this way, the settlement facilitates dismemberment of Tessera by making the "Old IP" chunk easier to set a value on.
