    Speculate On Next Dividend

Historically, it looks as though we're about 3 weeks away from the next dividend announcement. Anyone want to play Guess The Divvy? Recently, dividend changes have come in 5 cent increments so even if the divvy goes to 40 cent, the yield would be 11.25% or so right now, so you have to wonder where bottom is on this one. Then the other question is what's the greater catalyst for this downward move? Is it economics or politics? It seems as though the yield curve is steepening and that should be good for NLY. Even if interest rates go up, it seems to me as if that has been a reason for NLY having maintained relatively low leverage, so they could take advantage of improving yield curve conditions. So even though NAV may suffer from rising interest rates, won't they have the room to increase leverage on a timely basis? If that's the case, then maybe the downward pressure has more to do with politics and the blah blah blah about Fed limiting REITS like NLY on a being too big a factor in the housing markets to fail basis.... Who knows? The downward pressure on stock price just seems to me like an opportunity to the long term buyer, not an indicator, and I've been in NLY for at least 10 years.......
