to answer this question, you have to ask Goldman & Co. They are setting the target price and execute short sells with brute force. Until regular investors like you and me are lifeless pulp. The market is rigged, it has nothing to do with fundamentals, interest change or whatever. What Goldman and Co say, will be the direction until the goal is achieved.
there were a number of times interest rates have gone higher and then move back down lower. it happens all the time. that increased interest rate argument is getting old. rates will stabilize then come back down lower. in the long run annaly will benefit... price per share will continue to slowly climb as well as dividend.
The current market noise does not support your expected outlook for NLY. Too many issues in the market right now for NLY to move in a positive direction. I am a holder, have been for a long time and for the first time I have some concerns about the future of this business model followed by NLY.
