NLY - CEO Wellington Denahan purchased 180K shares thats shares not $$$ of NLY in the past two days

Additionally two other insiders made substantial purchases very recently. Officers & directors don't always pick a bottom, but they have a better feel for the outlook than all sell side analysts. Much of this sell off has been about the rise in 10 yr notes as FED suggested they will be easing QE2 in the not to distant future. During conference call Wellington said she welcomes a return to a more normalized market with so much distortion due to FED buying in market. Fed also indicated they will keep short rates down which steepens the yield curve and increases the spread for REIT's.

    • Rocky - Are you experienced in reading Form 4's? I see in the CEO's Form 4 that she has listed ownership of 150k options to purchase shares at $17 something that seem to have expired on August 4. Why would they be on the Form if they've expired worthless??? The last Form 4 before hers shows the same thing in lesser amounts. I don't understand.... Either way, it sure is a big vote of confidence to see such a large open market purchase by the CEO at these prices... It's large both in monetary value and large as a percentage of securities owned so it seems to be pretty significant.
