CVRR will never refine Brent crude. Spread, shed; only the WTI price matters, but discounts for heavy sour crude are even several $ lower price than WTI. Forget discussing Brent spread; has nothing to do with CVRR two refineries.
Maybe it would not matter to CVRR. But the key point is refined products can be exported to abroad. If there is wide spread between Brent - WTI, the gasoline can be exported to Euro and Asian countries (if gap is enough after covering the transportation cost). But as you might know the crude can not be exported (not until recently).
NO! Why would that be? North Sea oil goes mostly to European refineries. U.S. still brings in
lots of middle east and north Africa crude as well as Mexico and Venezuela. Brent crude does not
even have any relationship to retail gasoline or diesel prices. A large refinery fire has more effect
on crude and retail prices. Think wrong if you want !
