Seems like the best offer we are likely to see. With the Mutual controlling the so many of the shares... and they are clearly aligned with management.... why not sell or tender.... I have been in DGIC since 2001. Thoughts?
absolutely, when would you ever have suspected to be able to sell it for that (Especially if you have more than a few hundred shares since the trading is so thin)? DGIC certainly could care less though.
He has been trying for years, however management is committed to running an insurance company and keeping all the jobs locally. They have control of mutual company and the only way we might see changes is if new people get control who are motivated by money. this will surely happen over time and the company continues to grow so ultimately the buyout will grow.
I must say that Mr Sheppard is persistent. However Mr Nicklaus is not willing to give him the time of day. I think I would get very excited if Don retired however I just hold for div and buy on dips.
