LLY $4.54 EPS next year and strong pipeline

I just finished reviewing the nearly 250 clinical trials LLY has open and ongoing. Great pipeline in the works. What we have here is a stock with a great dividend, great pipeline, optionable with a solid $4.54 earnings next FY trading at a huge discount to value.

    LLY is going to $55.
    That is my prediction.
IMHO all should do their own due diligence and shall thus succeed.

I very much doubt there will be health care reform this year. Too many nay sayers.

The result is to keep the status quo which is a rapidly decreasing number of employers willing to pay health insurance as a benefit. And, rightly so.

When it costs $12,850 average for coverage, it is best to have that as a deduction from employee pay.

Then, employers can compete with European and Asian companies that do not have health care as a benefit because they have national health care.

Bottom line: LLY will rocket with continued status quo.

Besides, with over $4.50 earnings likely next year, LLY is more likely to be a $56 stock than $30.

    • $55 dollars, no probably AT LEAST $55 dollars. The head honchos have options at $55. You are probably one of them... the four amigoes. Buena suerte!

    • Finally...the $64,000 question was asked...

yesterday on "abc-tv" (better known as the all barrack channel) during the "network special on health care".... obama was asked:

"mr. President will you and your family give up your current health care program and join the new 'universal health care program' that the rest of us will be on ????"..... (bet you already know the answer)...

there was a stoney silence as obama ignored the question and chose not to answer it !!!...

in addition, a number of senators were asked t he same question and there response was..."we will think about it."

and they did. It was announced today on the news that the "kennedy health care bill" was written into the new health care reform initiative ensuring that congress will be 100% exempt !

so, this great new health care plan that is good for you and i... Is not good enough for obama, his family or congress...?? we (the american public) need to stop this proposed debacle asap !!!!... This is totally wrong !!!!!

personally, i can only accept a universal health care overhaul that extends to everyone... Not just us lowly citizens... While the washington "elite" keep right on with their gold-plated health care coverages.

if you agree please pass this o n ....if not plan to suffer with the obama health care plan ....for free.... while our self-serving politicians make sure that they take care of their butts at our expense.

    • You don't know what you are talking about. Mannkind has completed all required Phase III trials (with stunning results I might add) and the NDA has already been submitted to the FDA, and it's far along in the process for approval which is anticipated Q1 2010. Any uncompleted Phase III trials you may see are not necessary for the NDA submission or FDA approval, but are to PROVE the superiority of Afresa for marketing purposes.

Your post demonstrates your lack of understanding of Afresa and why it is the best prandial insulin that has ever been created, and we're talking by a landslide--not just a little bit better. If you can't list a few reasons why Afresa is clearly superior to every legacy prandial insulin, then you need to do more homework.

MNKD clearly won't put LLY out of business, but they'll hit 'em where it hurts like you can't imagine!

One final point on which you are incorrect, there is no way in the world that Alfred Mann would sell MNKD to a company such as LLY which has inferior legacy insulin products that it doesn't want to see cannibalized by Afresa. That's just common sense.

Sorry, but it looks like you are wrong on all counts.

    • With all the research you've done you are probably aware of the MNKD/Afresa train that's heading toward LLY's diabetes business Q1 next year. What do you estimate the long term damage will be?

    • seems reasonable based on what company and others are saying. merck made a bad move they shudda spent their billions on lly. maybe div w go to 2.10- 2.20 with 4.54, that makes even better yield while we wait for Goldman and other haters to stop manipulating this price for dividend captures.

      • $4.51 makes LLY worth $45 per share.

$1.96 dividend is over 5%, also excellent.

Found 205 studies with search of:

Eli Lilly Open Studies all of which focus on diseases having very large patient populations.
Including Medimmune there are 235 studies.

Don't tell me LLY doesn't have a pipeline.

Some of those FDA Trials sure look compelling to me.
