I for one think a reduction in staff is a good thing if it produces a better bottom line, Apparently someone who knows thinks that is a good thing for the company and the stockholders, have none of you people ever run a company? Believe me, firing people in my company has led to a better bottom line many more times than not. Look at the bright side instead of being negative.....
It is a sign that they see the writing on the wall and that they do not have the business to keep that many people busy. Next is the big revenue drop, I guess that is good for your company too? Take your profits now and thank them for the runnup. I do it all the time without emotion, except for that of gratitude.

The stock is up because ETFs have to buy the shares as demand from dopey investors buy the ETF..

You just don't understand. This company is hq'd in the middle of b*tt #$%$ hicksville. They have always used life-long job security to secure staff. Lilly just broke a promise of five generations. It's toast.
