Here's what a great place ePlus is to work for...and why I am getting out.
At Manchester we had PAL time (Paid Absent Leave). It was sick time and vacation time. People accrued this time and saved it up; some people had over three hundred hours. This was part of our compensation. It encouraged you to come to work and not always take off.
When ePlus bought us , Norton and the head of HR told us our PAL time would carry over. So, no one asked Manchester to pay out for the time due. Then, 2-faced Phil went back on his word and told us all tough Sh*t!, and now he won't honor HIS promise to us!!!!
They are trying to blame it on Manchester, but Manchester didn't make the promise, HE DID.
i was one of the "unlucky" ones to get tossed in the initial purge. it's worked out pretty well for me thus far - got a new job with a stable company relatively quickly. a blessing in disguise? it sure seems that way. i'm hearing nightmarish stories from the few that i talk to that still remain at eplus
That was a nice bennie...but expensive for a business. Over 300 hours saved up? For a company, that's a huge liability. And most did away with that in the 90's. Consider yourself lucky you had it this long. As an ePlus investor, removing that perk makes business sense to me.
