I think there may be some confusion between the record date and the ex-dividend date. The ex-dividend date is the first day the stock trades without the dividend. The record date is really just irrelevant for the investor's purposes, so I don't know why it's talked about so much in reports, etc., but it always comes a couple days after the ex-dividend date. There was a report about PTNR paying a dividend to shareholders of record as of 3/7, but the ex-dividend date, I'm willing to bet, was today.
The Street Insider report I cited above states that the dividend was around $2.40, but I think it's actually going to end up being more like $2.39.
My broker lists the closing price Tuesday 3/2 as $24.13, but it says that the closing price today was $21.76, yet it says that it went UP $0.02 today. $24.13 - $21.74 = $2.39, which I am guessing is the amount of the dividend.
i own PTNR and today the Div Yield has increased to $7.57 = 38%! . there was a ruling allowing a special div to be paid, i can't find out anything, company web site or Yahoo. A recent strong buy from zacks and a +50% roe, target of 85,but dropped 10% ? Somebody call cramer/cnbc..Help!
