Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) Message Board

Yahoo's Board of Director's are sleeping

This B.O.D. obviously cannot see that Semel needs to go, therefore it's time for them to go. Semel has done nothing but drive Yahoo into the ground with his zero creativity but I guess the board feels that a guy with no salary is worth keeping.

When Mattel's board FINALLY dumped their CEO which I PERSONALLY made a rallying cry, the stock shot up. And if you recall, she got 20 million just for leaving!

In any case, Semel is long overdue for replacement. The longer he remains at the helm, the more investors will do as Fidelity Investments has done - vote with their feet.

Remember when Coke replaced the original formula with the 'NEW' Coke? Semel has been doing this with ALL of Yahoo's formats from the weather page to the message boards. As soon as people become familiar with something, Semel has the brilliance to pull the rug out.

And Yahoo fans are excited about Panama? Come on folksies, Yahoo is merely mirroring another search engines success. Wow, that speaks volumes about Yahoo's creative genius.

Let's get a fresh approach beginning at the top. What is the worst that can happen, Yahoo pays a salary for the top job and the stock price jumps 7 points just like Mattel?

    • What is your opinion on today's positive WSJ article on how Yahoo beat Google on the free iquirey searches? It's sure to drive traffic (for people using or contemplating using this type of service).

    • your cry will not be rallying here. Semel is doing a great job. The stock price is down because of competition from the likes of GOOG and hedge funds. Stock price will come back up in due time. There is no gaurantee that any new head will be better than Semel. So take your crying somewhere else.

      • Are you familiar with income statements and balance sheets? When you're done playing Hot Wheels, have a look at Yahoo's.

Yahoo is making matters worse by changing the 'original' formula of familiar formats. And as I type this the chat rooms are still full of porno as they have for 5 years. And THAT is why advertisers pull out. Pepsi warned Yahoo of this fact so long ago but apparently Semel has been too busy traveling to notice.

Fidelity sold for a reason - no confidence in management. Get that through our thick squash, please.
