I think once this merger got a green light, goog will start his downshift trend. No brainer because a combined MSFT/YHOO is a powerhouse that their economies of scale is way too much for goog to handle. The new company will have a very, very extensive coverage worldwide (signed and delivered partnership agreements is one vechile and OS monopoly of MSFT is another vehicle)and obviously advertiser and hardware companies, chips companies, programmers, to name few are obviously will align themselves with the most customers base, MSFT/YHOO. Just the internet users worldwide, this combined company will have at least 2B to 3B customers. China, India and Japan already is about 2B in two to three years timeframe. The combined company will rule the internet business for a long, long time. MSFT will go $40 after the merger according to Barron.
