A new generation of search engines is emerging -- intelligent search based on semantic understanding. You can use search engines to improve your investment results. We are all familiar with Google , Yahoo! and Microsoft's Bing. These search engines are based on key words and Boolean algebra improves the relevance of the hits. Each of these companies has some degree of involvement in semantic search engines, but this is not a core strategy at this time. IBM uses significantly different approaches to search via its Watson supercomputer. IBM is now advertising that Watson will compete on the television program Jeopardy against former champions. This is no game for IBM as the company will seek to sell versions of Watson to government and commercial organizations. The first offerings will probably be delivered in 2013, and the minimum price will easily exceed $1 million.
