while Bartz may be incompetant, Ma is a dirty little crook!

he stole Alipay wrecking the VIE through which Yahoo owns 43% of Alibaba in the process. No doubt he intends to steal the rest of Alibaba if he can get away with it. He should be arrested and thrown into a cell as soon as he sets foot on American soil again. JMO of course.

    • There is little which any company can do to Alibaba with the exception of filing a complaint. This action is almost useless since the Chinese government always protects the interest of Premier Chinese companies, of which, Alibaba is considered. Most likely, Yahoo's payment for Alipay will be much lower than they should have received because Yang dropped the ball. He may say he was blind sided. But as he showed while acting as CEO, he's not experienced enough. Yang is a smart kid that got lucky and like most young entrepreneurs follow the VC like sheep. Being a founder doesn't make him qualified as a CEO. As a board member, it the person's responsibility to keep his ear, eyes open of what is being said behind the scenes as well as what is officially said.

Not all is lost. There are still things happening in the background that may push Ma towards a reasonable settlement.

    • careful what you wish for. he is still the single reason yhoo stock is as high as it is.
