from today's WSJ article on Yahoo!

"Among Mr. Levinsohn's early moves, expect him to take more of Yahoo's ad inventory away from intermediaries that have profited by buying it cheap and then selling it dear. Another move, says a person familiar with the matter, will be for Yahoo to merge its RightMedia ad exchange platforms with startup AppNexus, which has more advanced technology. That should help Yahoo sell advertising more efficiently and also save on engineering costs."

    • They also need to stop spammers from trying to sell their phony market letters on these message boards. Not only do these spammers cheat Yahoo's paying advertisers but users as well.

There are only two reasons why Yahoo hasn't stopped these spammers -

Indifference - they just don't care

or lack of ethics - lots of "unique users" because the spammers get so many free ID's.

Clearly, they have the technology to stop issuing the ID's, delete all similar spam with a single report or search out and delete the spam within seconds of it being posted.
