Page after page of mindless political comments. Nothing about GE or the stock market; just useless political opinions.
If Yahoo ever wants to be taken seriously, it needs to delete the entire set of GE board comments and then appoint volunteer 24/7 monitors to delete every political comment within 5 minuts of posting. Ditto BA and other boards that have become political comment garbage dumps.
With tiny link fees for ads there is no money for cleaning it up or monitoring. Internet anonimity is corrosive.
I enjoy reading some poltical discussion. Politics is a major factor investing. But most is ignorant blather.
Two thoughts - First, if a icompany can't do something reasonably well, perhaps it shouldn't do it at all. Or at least it should strive to correct the worst faults. Again, can you imagine google or amazon or microsoft running message boards like GE?
And second - perhaps Yahoo can only get tiny link fees since most of the viewers have absolutely no interest in what is being offered; or have clicked by accident; or perhaps that is the price for allowing serial message board stock spammers (scammers) to post free and compete with paying advertisers.
The problem lies in that there really iisn't much to talk about GE anymore. The stock moves sideways. If you look at all the big stocks that don't move csco, jnj, etc. Their boards are all the same. jmho
