Obama budget not intended for deficit reduction

The White House admits that Obama's budget is not set for deficit reduction.

The White House began its spin of the president’s budget proposal on Monday as White House Spokesman Jay Carney announced that the president’s proposal would rely heavily on government “investments” instead of private sector growth and that the people should expect large annual budget deficits until 2023 at the earliest.

Carney noted that the president is not addressing balancing the budget. “It should not be deficit reduction for deficit reduction’s sake,” he said. “The goal here should be economic growth and job creation.”

The economy, however, has been remarkably unstable over the last few years as one economic crisis after another has come up to demand quick action by lawmakers. As America has already raised the debt ceiling several times and crashed through it in the beginning of this year, America is running a $16.6 trillion national debt and the U.S. is continually running deficits of over a trillion dollars with no budget having been passed by the Senate since 2009.

If a republican was in the office and did anywhere near as horrible of a job, Yahoo "news" would be comlaining about it every day. Extremely biased Yahoo now just ignores what's going on.
