About two weeks ago AAPL was trading $395 to $400. Now AAPL is about $460, so a gain of about $60 per share. So if AAPL wants to buy YHOO with his stocks, say $35 per share, what a difference two weeks to today if we have a buyout deal.
It will the fiercest bidding war for a company possibly ever in history. And it won't be just between Apple and FaceBook. Google can give away the search to Bing and avoid anti-trust and join the food fight. Then, of course, there is Microsoft which is on the rise and loaded with cash...and finally there is Disney which is an financial vacuum cleaner when it comes to sucking up content rich companies (think Marvel). So, the only questions are 1.) will the bidding war begin before the Allibaba IPO or after. And then, 2.) will Marissa and Daniel want to be bought or do they have bigger plans on their own...they just might.
