That’s the new headline for the new so called competition and it’s more good news for Enphase.
Just search on “SMA Sunny Boy 240 delayed again.”
“SMA America delayed the introduction of the Sunny Boy 240-US microinverter system until the first quarter of 2013 (1Q13) despite the webpage continuing to claim “Coming 2012!”
The article also reveals that SMA now admits that they can only run up to 12 panels on a daisy chain which will then require a “Sunny Multigate-US” TO INTERFACE EACH DAISY CHAIN TO THE MAIN SERVICE. Are they effing serious??!!
So a 15 panel array will require 2 of these Sunny Multigate-US monstrosities bolted to the house somewhere. And how much will those babies cost?
SMA has completely missed the boat on this one. The whole reason to go micro-inversion is to go straight to the AC production meter from a combiner box on the roof.
It’s Enphase all the way folks. Let the hedgies short it, because it's still the best game in town by far.
