Mr. Daniel Loeb - Please save Enphase - Fire the CEO and CTO
Mr. Daniel Loeb,
You are the major investor in Enphase. An IPO priced at $8 (already a disgrace), repriced during the night at $6. Catastrophic IPO. Today at $2.5. This CEO is wasting the company's funds with no strategy, overspending without justification. This CEO is the yes-man of the CTO who is the de facto CEO. No new product launched in 2 years, no business strategy. If the board does not wake up and makes dramatic changes, Enphase will end up like Satcon.
You saved Yahoo. Please save Enphase and change the CEO and CTO. Otherwise they will bankrupt the company and all investors will lose their money including Third Point.
It is not too late to save it, but you need to act fast. You are the last chance.
You said, ---No new product launched in 2 years---
But what about that gang-buster thermostat and that hot new meter! LOL.
I'll bet those are just flying off the shelves.
They have launched new products and that is why you are so right that they need to fire these arrogant guys. They're a specialty boutique microinverter company acting like Apple but with ZERO subscriber revenue.
Even if they axe these guys I fear it is too late to recover share price. All investments were made while Enphase enjoyed the growth spurred by a super cheap panel market. We're past that now.
The $350 Enphase Environ Smart Thermostat isn't selling because you can buy the EXACT same one at Home Depot for $100 (Filtrete), both are obviously OEM from the same Chinese thermostat company. The Enphase one integrates with Enlighten, and the Home Depot one comes with free a web/smart phone app. I don't know why ANYONE would buy the Enphase thermostat for over 3x the cost. Another wasted development effort.
