    SMA microinverters

Apparently, SMA has a forthcoming microinverter. It says it is a 240W output and of course is a direct competitor to ENPH. What does Enphase have in the wings for a new higher-capacity micro-inverter? Is the company ready for the competition from PWER and SMA? It looks like the price per microinverter is where ENPH wins as their unit price may be 10-20% less than these other new ones. I'm waiting to see how these others price-out longer term. Good luck to ENPH investors as this shakes out.

    • because most 240w panel not produce 240w most the day, with dirt, dust, and sun angle differences. you don't really need 240w inverter for 240w panel. that is why enphase maing 215w. It is really good efficiency, and easy to install.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • I was reading the SEC documents for ENPH for 2012. How did they increase R&D from 25MM to 35MM in 2012 without putting out any new products? Is there any additional products to come out? Or is this money spent for maintaining engineers on existing products? Seems a big money-dump. Companies with many products, like competitor PWER, have the same R&D costs as ENPH with one core product.

      Sentiment: Buy
