Jack Goldstein's bio should read: Novartis took over Chiron because Chiron's management team was so incompetent (Jack G.) that Novartis publicly came out and said they needed to buy Chiron to protect their interests because Chiron's management was doing such a lousy job/ruining the company. Took Applied Imaging public on some wild story he sold Wall St. on only to see it blow up and left for others to clean up his mess. Anything this guy is associated with/touches......run for the hills.
Last I looked the Chairman doesn't matter. It's management expediting drug trials and partnerships when appropriate that matters. If I wanted to strain myself into criticizing the chairman I might say to the extent he and Board were involved in the financing decision it would have been nice if the shares weren't sold at such a cheap price.
