why did all the uranium stocks go down? Because the disaster in Japan and the subsequent drop in uranium demand. why are all the uranium stocks going up? Because uranium production is down due to the low price, and Japan is going to restart its nuclear reactors, and there isn't as large of a supply.
It is called money moving into the sector. Sentiment has changed on uranium sector and catalysts are in place on supply/demand concerns, higher NG prices, and Japan solidifying commitment to nuclear energy.
Another thesis supporting CCJ break out. The big vote of share buying supporting TSLA's dream for electric vehicles is also supporting uranium's outlook. There is no other practical way to power large scale electric vehicle deployments w/o nuclear power. It also has the lowest carbon footprint of any practical power plant fuel. Solar and wind for electric vehicle battery charging is *novel* at best and would only meet a tiny fraction of what's required.
