The volume is so low and I wouldn't read much into it unless you are a short term trader. I wouldn't expect that they either blow out or miss huge. It looks like the share price is discounting lower than expected. With the high short interest and small float I really like ATHN as a hold or buy.
curious as to why this stock goes down right before an earnings report? Someone playing by a formula by shorting? or maybe someone who is invested heavily sells before earnings just in case it is bad? and buys back later? 50% of winning if earning reports is bad? and even if it isn't, there is a good chance poeple will sell before earnings report?
No they haven't. Go to shortsqueeze.com and type in the symbol. The short interest is up from last month and is now roughly 49% of the float. This is great for the longs but I am not sure we will see a squeeze next week. JB indicated that there was a lot of infrastructure investment in the last quarter and that Q4 might be better than (internally) forecasted.
