    Why short interest so high

I am new to CRR would like to understand 40% of float is short is this an overvaluation statement or is here a belief in the near term sand replaces ceramics versus continued growth for ceramics - Thanks

    • previous quarters eps have been unimpressive due to pricing pressure and no meaningfully new products that change the landscape. With the inventory issue behind them and the growing attention to int'l mkt as well deepwater exposure ( hi-pressure), I suspect these next few quarters will re-ignite a squeeze...look for $150 b4 yr end and I could be off by 3 mos so either dec or mar...but the company is positioning itself beautifully and I am buying every chance I get... Shorts will not be able to get out for anything other than pain...I've seen this slow cooking of shorts b4...Be ready

      • bas32060 - well put. I'm looking to add myself as my thinking is almost exactly what you expressed, although IMHO we eventually squeeze higher than the last spike. I peeled off some @102 because I'm hoping the shutdown/debt environment will provide a better buying opportunity, but so far CRR has been holding up really really well. I'm thinking 85-90 would be an absolute gift, but I'll probably have to re-accumulate at a price higher than that. (I just hope I don'e end up chasing 100)

        Sentiment: Buy

    • I doubt the short is that specific. The issue is fracking. Recent concerns from OPEC regarding growing US reserves/production due to fracking technology should bode well for stocks like CRR. Even if it keeps oil prices down.
