    Tad too pricey right now

In the words of the CEO or CFO from the conference call - with the large run up in our share prices, buying back stock at this moment would not be in shareholder's best interest.

Need to get back somewhat below $29 to get me interested.

    • Swamp, do I correctly recall you getting out of FRS at least one time before? How did that work out? Not that I blame you, as I still have my doubts about Golden Corral. I sold some FRS early in 2003, and bought it back later, at a higher price, but not that much higher that I had any regrets.

      • I exited around 21 once, it went higher, but I got back in around $21.50 and $23 again. The company has amazed me in its staying power. it is very well run, but I too share concerns about Golden Corral - it is looking like a low return enterprise. The firm should benefit from lower beef prices in the next six months (one would think) and a pretty good economy but suffer from higher natural gas (heating) prices. In the CC, they noted that last year's Q3 was a bad one due to weather, so they should beat and one would think the pension situation gets better next year. Right now, my guess is they earn $2.15 this year and $2.25 to $2.40 in their following fiscal year. I like the stock at a P/E closer to 13.
