quarter results good, but they received benefit of a full saturday dec 23 and 1/2 day sunday dec24th, versus 1/2 day 2005 saturday 24th and no sunday dec 25, 2005. also weather quite kind. snow days can hit 50% sales each day negatively with no ability to recoup lost sales, esp. if it snows fri/sat/sun. corral is driven by weekend sales primarily-much less @ big boy. also, this qtr 2006 they rolled out everyday favorites w/ mega advertising to inject demand w/ new c.o.o.-matt carpenter. will be very difficult to duplicate mother nature's help and menu adjustments. see mcdonald's press release for 2006 december adjustment (gained 1 sunday, lost 1 thursday). up $5-6 since november-sell-sell-sell esp. if gas goes up significantly.
