Guess on Close and General Thoughts on this Wild Play

After some morning covering (?), any guesses on the close? I am going with 78.

Positives: balance sheet, reservoir monitor system (Shell, Statoil) with revenues going well into 2014, earnings and revenue beats

Negatives: decline of more traditional seismic equipment, margin compression and 'slower worldwide seismic activity.'

Other thoughts: Conference call?, Owens retirement, property expansion - is something brewing?

Macro: bullish on international and GOM deepwater growth (and potential for proliferation of the reservoir monitor system in years ahead) but less visibility on role of seismic and wireless products.

There are my quick thoughts. Ultimately, the float makes this stock rather vulnerable to high volatility but I still see considerable upside in my overall perspective for what it's worth...

    • Well I think I will refrain from the pps guessing game. Having said that 78 isn't happening. Like I said looks like I am forced into a longer term play here now. I figure I'm here at least until the end of year now. $80 was my buy in last quarter. Would be thrilled to get out around $100 year end we shall see!

    • I got back into this name at 70, on the ridiculous drop. It is still very cheap. Who can do what they do? If there were choices, would those majors go with a small outfit like GEOS?

Where it closes today depends on the overall mkt. If the Dow is green, it will be over 75. Just my guess.

More importantly, while the product sales have not done well, what has done well will make GEOS attractive as a takeover by HAL/SLB and a few others. Maybe even GE. They are not product purveyors, they provide services.

So I'm holding for that takeover, or trip digits. GLTA.
