i agree with tvidiac. 9% sequential revenue
increase is pretty lackluster, especially with a
high-expectation (read p/e) stock like brcm. i don't understand
why merrill would have a 'buy' on this stock with
such low revenue numbers.
imo, i think $130
million is doable and that would keep the stock at around
wchang_98. Why are you inundating us with your
portfolio? Because we care? bluewhale ... I do appreciate
your input. However, to the individual who graduated
from Wharton, "didn't" is the contraction for "did
not". It isn't a contraction for "did-UH-not". Too bad
your daddy didn't read to you before he sent you off
to school to be 'learned' by a bunch of your drunk
Whisper.com---That's the site---same site that
often tells you the wrong earnings date----and adding
$.05 on to the consensus estimate of $0.20 for the
quarter (First Call)is really "stretching it"
I'd be with you on the "sell half if under 130M"
but I'm so close to the one year mark. If it was in
my IRA, I would.
4th quarter will be great
and 1Q 00 will be dynomite!!!!
I just don't
want to get left out of the Y2K party that will run
till late Apr or May.

I too agree with revenues being around 135
million, ML #'s are usually conservative so that co's can
beat their estimates and look good. But even at 135,
that will not meet the whisper number in EPS (if it is
25). It will beat the estimates though. I believe that
this will give them roughly 22 cents.
below 125 in revenues and we will be in trouble. If we
don't make 130 million, I will probably sell 1/2 my
position. Taking profits off the table at that point seems
sensible. The fourth qtr has been good to them (as with
most companies), but I believe because of their
product cycle - the 1st may be better than their fourth.
appreciation during "light trading" days----its
as if those who have the guts to venture forth are
rewarded---yet, the volume hasn't been shabby considering that
there is such reluctance by many traders to "jump
I don't need the confirmation----I'll settle for
price appreciation----especially right in the teeth of
all the semis going "DOWN" today---check the sox for
yourself and look at the major players---BRCM was one of
the few to hold its ground.
