Dear cba_fed: I don't expect to hear from you
again, but just for the heck of it how much do they pay
you to pretend to be interested in this stock, or any
of the other company's that have their boards
cluttered with your drivel, I could use words like "spam",
but this is really just childish drivel. I might be
in the wrong line of work. Thanks in advance, UP
For all those who are worried about WHAT the
severance will be and WHEN it will be paid and IF you will
get one, STOP WORRYING! El Paso is fair to those they
want to be fair to. In the Sonat merger last year, not
all Sonat mgmt kept their word to employees, so don't
believe all that you hear until you get official word
from your manager on the day of layoffs. Everyone will
be called to one of two rooms and until you go to
that room, you won't know who gets the ax until it
happens. Just enjoy the ride and stop worrying or just
quit if you can't handle the heat. In the long run, it
all works out for everyone!
One simple way to evaluate a stock price is to divide the EPS by the rate of return on US Treasury Bonds, currently about 6%. EPG's 1Q EPS is .72 divided by .06 then times 4 (quarterly) yields $48.

Just a couple of things for you to think about
while you get "rich", three years ago this stock sold
for around $36 and now it is selling for around $48.
I for one haven't enjoyed the $20 run up that you
refer to if you can document a $20 run up I would like
to see it. Also the fools that put "target prices"
on a stock are spitting into a wind of uncertainty,
that includes - inflation, oil & gas prices,
management decisions, Wallstreet's fickle mood swings as to
what's in and what's out. If you feel comfortable buying
or holding at $48, then do so, if you're in the
"business" you likely have a better insight than any of
wallstreet's professional guessers.
I bet you're right about Jack not being President
of Production after the merger. I heard that Coastal
has a much bigger production company and they are
international, unlike El Paso. Any comments on this?
That's their answer, They will/can reduce the
work force (get rid of 2/3 0f us or better) and
contract the work that we were doing out to...Pace, maybe
or Mercury maybe.
And seeing as when we were
let go (with a kiss and a pat on the back) these
places were hiring help we most likely went to work for
Lo and Behold, here we are right back in
the same A/O we just left. Does that make any sence
to anyone out there.
I'm just speculating,
since we just had our "Pep Talk" from the "BIG BOX"
Doomsayer from ElPaso, the Ex-Tennico Bagman The picture
seems just as bad as I/we have been told on this board
and the Coastal board.
They (whoever "They"
are) say this is all bullshit but It's sure close to
the picture that they painted for us at the last
That was long but I was on a roll, sorry.
After the "BIG BOX" meetings these last few
weeks,severance looks inevitable.Could anyone
who has been
through this process shed some light on this
subject,IE....What is the period of time between actual severance
and the time
you receive the pay? Does anyone Ever
get severance pay or is the process so
most people end up just bailing out to other
just to avoid the frustration?
You want an answer to your question well here we
go. Why would you even worry about a severance if you
were a good worker? Maybe you aren't a good worker?
Well if your not then I can see what your worried
about. If you are a good worker don't worry. Maybe your
the type who has his head shoved up the bosses you
know what. El Paso will treat you fairly even though
you probably haven't treated your employer fairly.
Get back to work and contribute to the company and
QUIT the complaining. You could be working in a blast
furnace or something even worse. Be thankful your even
breathing our air and SHUT UP. Like I say get back to work
or you will owe your employer money!
You sound like a person who has their head up the
bosses you know what! Why are worring about a severance?
If you were a good employee you shouldn't have to
worry. If your one of the butt kissers I feel bad for
you and if your not maybe you should. Grow up El Paso
will treat you fairly. Even thought you probably don't
deserve it. El Paso wants workers not crybabies. Does
that answer your question! (QUIT WHINNING) I for one
am tired of hearing it.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I don't
know anybody who has collected a severance. If you
don't retire you don't get nothing! They keep streching
you along until you get so fed up you quit even
thinking about it. The severance is a sham of a program.
If you think you will get it good luck to you. Wisen
up out there you poor fools I certainly feel for
you....GOOD LUCK !!!!!!!!
