It's not too hard to "know something" when most of the SPAN operation is in a single plant. So I suspect that the market sees some good activity, or even that some of the people who can see the day to day operations might bid up such a low volume stock. Nothing illegal about it, of course. Just a relatively easy company to understand by many people including insiders. It's one of the reasons I like investing in SPAN along with respecting the people operating it. Wish I could see for myself what is going on day to day, but I'm not going to worry too much about that as long as I trust management to act responsibly and tell the whole story honestly to me.
