I received a letter from Rex to buyout my mineral interest in a well in Illinois. I went to their website and read about the EOR project. Seems like the company has a good future. I didn't sell ...
I found it by searching news articles for companies drilling in Appalachia. Since UPL had a big find a couple years back (they drilled deep while most wells in Appalachia are shallow) which got a lot of other companies interested in unconventional gas exploration.
Capital One investment advice.
Side note: My girlfriends family lives in northern Pennslyvania and Natural Gas Drillers (from an unknown company) offered $2500 an acre to test, just test, their ground for reserves. The area is rich in gas!
I work in the oil and gas industry; 27 years of observation. I watch the trends over time; pick companies that I am familiar with in areas that are increasing in activity and purchase based on that increase in local activity.
