    soggy never covered this bit...

... too busy trolling, misrepresenting and spinning, i guess, that's ok - with all the above responsibilities, i understand he's a busy guy.

but some response (besides "the dick"'s) would be appreciated.

    so let's try again:

Re:russian Linux site? Linux sans GPL?

copyright laws, like every other law are subject to jurisdiction. i feel theirs (what i know of them) are skewed too far in one direction, and ours are skewed too far in the other.

personally, i don't like the concept of that particular site very much.

but let's recast your question a bit, to wit, you said:

    >>>Do you feel that people should be able to bypass the GPL and linux copyrights in the same way that many f/oss zealots advocate bypassing music copyrights?<<<

firstly, i'll note that your statement regarding "many f/oss zealots" is unsupported, unfair and incendiary, but your bullshit aside, since you seem you imply that you don't like using laws in various other jurisdictions to your advantage, i have to ask:

do you feel corporations should be able to bypass u.s. tax laws the way microsoft does by using the tax laws in ireland?

So far as I can gather from zog's failure/refusal to provide any information whatsoever, no such site exists.

Oh gee... that's right... I forgot that wonton needs a web site to see before he thinks about anything.

I'll ask again to see if today you get some guts:

Do you feel that people should be able to bypass the GPL and linux copyrights in the same way that many f/oss zealots advocate bypassing music copyrights?

My guess: you'd dodge and weave again today... most likely run away.

    • << firstly, i'll note that your statement regarding "many f/oss zealots" is unsupported, unfair and incendiary >>

      Oh really?

Do a scrape through this message board and you'll find this is precisely the case.

<< that you don't like using laws in various other jurisdictions to your advantage, i have to ask: >>

I never claimed any such thing.

My claim was that many of YOU linux f/oss zealots seem to be very selective about the rights you try to protect... and you're completely hypocritical in terms of your support for the GPL, but at the same time looking for ways to violate music copyrights.

<< do you feel corporations should be able to bypass u.s. tax laws the way microsoft does by using the tax laws in ireland? >>

They are not bypassing laws, they are complying with the laws. Just because you don't like the outcome doesn't mean that Microsoft has done anything wrong.

That said, I've always felt that US tax code was far too complex and left too many loopholes - and if this is an unfair loophole, then I believe that the legislators should fix it.

Now - I note that after you tried to change the subject here - you still haven't answered my question - so let's get back on track:

Do you feel that people should be able to bypass the GPL and linux copyrights in the same way that many f/oss zealots advocate bypassing music copyrights?

      Be honest.

this board is hardly representative of any general population - on either side of the argument going on here.

unless of course you think most msft supporters are anally and orally obsessed. the connection you're making is just as weak as that.

        >>>That said, I've always felt that US tax code was far too complex and left too many loopholes - and if this is an unfair loophole, then I believe that the legislators should fix it.<<<

i've generally thought that for a long time.

i didn't change the question - i simply clarified that it's about jurisdictions (plural) - despite your attempt to spin it (see above).

    • >goes both ways. if you don't see that, you are messed up.

You just did it again, stupid. I said that you excuse your own behaviour by claiming that others do the same, and your response is "so do you."

My God but you're a retarded moron!

    • you too insist on changing the subject. I guess the point is made ..... the russian site is a barely legal scam at best, big al is a proud supporter of it, and his band of abm jackals here tacitly support him. fine. let's move on now.

    • >you too insist on changing the subject.

No, I got to the root of it. You would prefer to babble back for forth for days on it without reaching conclusion.

It's what I notice most about you, creepy_word_game, and dex4145... you aren't interesting in resolutions. You're only interested in keeping the conversation going.

      I'm results oriented. You're not.

      >big al is a proud supporter of it, and his
      >band of abm jackals here tacitly support him.

So? What's it to you? Have they broken into your home and are they forcing their opinions onto your and your family at gunpoint?

Holy crap man, live and let live! What an angry opinionated asshole!

      >>>totally different cases. why don't we discuss the topic at hand? why do you feel compelled to introduce a new one?<<<

no, they're not - and i'm not introducing a new one. if you feel they are different, don't just say so - tell me how.

why do you feel so put out that i won't comply with your and soggy's spin on the thing? nobody's obligated to play your "when did you stop beating your wife?" games.

you're spinning it - pure and simple.

    • microsoft using tax loopholes to avoid paying taxes by sheltering money in ireland has nothing whatsoever to do with a big al and taking advantage of the russian music site, despite your desperate redirect defense. but carry on, you fit right in.

    • the_fat_lady_is_warming_up the_fat_lady_is_warming_up Mar 19, 2006 11:58 AM Flag

      >>>I've addressed it. immaterial, at best.

what do you think of a russian site stealing music under some bullshit russian laws designed to allow them to sell it back to users in other countries where said behavior is illegal? you like that?<<<

i don't like a lot of things - including that - assuming you've characterized it correctly, which given your normal habit of spinning things, i have reason to doubt.

if it's illegal in said countries, then jurisdiction of said countries should allow them to deal with the users in question.

    • what do you think about that russian site fattie? have you addressed it?

    • You should know that 90% of the "strong sell" negative bashing on this board is from professionals earning minimum wages. They work two to four hours per day and use several aliases. They are paid by adversaries. I have been with MSFT for several years. Have 10,000 shares and earned 12 house payments, a trip to France and a ton of money trading this stock up and down and selling covered calls. Recently I am making less money because I am afraid to short. I think this stock is about to explode. Traders do what you will, but to waste your time rebutting these low paid negative lowlifes on this board is silly.
Can anyone in their right mind imagine spending so many hours on this board? As long as I have been with this stock I have maybe spent a total of a half hour reading this crap. I'm too busy making money and living my life. What a bunch of losers, especially the idiots claiming some moral obligation to bash MSFT. It's actually comical.
