A left-wing uninformed (redundant) whack job posted:

    <911 happened on Bush's watch....stoooopid!>

100% of planning and training completed on Clinton's watch, idiot.

While Clinton was taking care of "purely personal matters" in the Oval office Al Qaeda repeatedly attacked U.S. Soild and interests to the point where Osama convinced the Taliban (who were initially against 9/11) that nothing would happen.

Learn history or repeat it, idiot.

    • Which is why you should get educated for once, instead of spouting your uninformed regurgitated neo-con crap about what a great success it is, and how the surge is working.

    • This is too serious of a subject to trivialize as you are trying.

      Have a great evening.

    • LOL. You're starting to sound like wonton now. Oh well, you do have this tendency of talking about sh1t you really don't understand very well rather than just stfu.

    • Have a great evening.

    • Iraq wasn't a threat to the US and we're arguable more vulnerable now for having gone in there than if we'd left it alone. Now, it will almost surely become an Islamic state at some future point. But keep talking about your "success" there. It shows how clueless you are generally.

    • <I'm sure the families of our dead soldiers will take solace in that.>

Some will take solace in the accomplishment. The man or woman killed in action (and usually their families) never comes out ahead in the war lottery.

Dukakis was stupidly sucked into that same type disingeuous argument and lost the point in a 1988 debate.

It is a disingenuous to ask because those people never directly benefit regardless of the outcome. Those that died on Omaha Beach did not get to see what they won.

      We disagree on this issue.

The families of those who have died and who are also cognizant enough of their surroundings to see the progress that is being made will not take solace that there are some who are less aware and want their sacrifice to be for nothing, just for political gain.

<LOL. Iraq wasn't a threat to US security. Afghanistan, yes.>

Iraq was more evident before the fact than Afghanistan. The leader of Iraq had put out a hit attempt on an ex-president (act of war) and was openly supporting terrorism and purposefully creating a climate of unrest Palestinians. Per the Russians they wanted to hit us.

Iraq was clearly a threat. That you are so uninformed not to know that is just another idication of who you are.

This is too serious of a topic to waste time engaging you in one of your moronic, shallow, poorly thought out exchanges that is precipitated primarily on your desire to take a position opposing mine.

      Have a great evening.

    • "Your opinion with which I disagree 100%."

I'm sure the families of our dead soldiers will take solace in that.

      "Great progress is being made."

Yeah, it's amazing what you can do when you strike a deal with the locals who last year were killing our soldiers, and then segregate different ethnicities behind walls so that they can't kill each other.

"Our goal is security for the U.S."

LOL. Iraq wasn't a threat to US security. Afghanistan, yes. Iraq, no. They were just a pain in the a$$ and a threat to their neighbors.

"I don't think that will be achieved with aU.S. modeled democracy but we are learning and making progress."

LOL. Meaning the go-in goal is a failure and now it's just about trying to make it less of a fukup. So yes, it's less fuked up than it was 6 months ago. But a lessor fukup != success.

    • <Where we are today is a clusterfuk with little chance of achieving the duma$$ goal originally envisioned...>

Your opinion with which I disagree 100%.

This nation was screwed up for 20 years after the civil war. Great progress is being made. Our goal is security for the U.S. I don't think that will be achieved with aU.S. modeled democracy but we are learning and making progress.

    • "I'm talking about where we are today."

Where we are today is a clusterfuk with little chance of achieving the duma$$ goal originally envisioned, and faced with the two choices, neither of them pleasant. A) pull out and be seen to visibly lose again, or B) dig in until they can run their country on their own (which as currently drawn up is never because they never should have been one country in the first place). It'll make Korea look like a summer vacation.
