It was a little infomercially but I wish they had done that demo on the reveal. I am thinking about going and standing in line for one now. I was going to hold off for a couple of weeks but I think I need one.

My Linux Netbook is better than any Surface Tablet, and it has FREE Open Office too.
Sentiment: Sell
Can Linus netbooks run old windows applications? NO!!!! So, fo most, this is not the right thing to own!
Only a developer will use a Linux. Besides that, I don't know any person in his right mind would dare use an unfriendly environment.
I bought the Surface RT and love it. Microsoft has got a winner here. Can't wait to get the Surface Pro when it comes out.
When did you get the Surface? Did you use it for a week or two to really get to know all the features? It just came out today for public. I just played with the one for an hour and loved it. A lot like my windows phone and loved it.
You need windows 7 and a $499 shiny new laptop. Thats a good value and you are guaranteed to be happy with it.
Otherwise buy an IPAD.
Sofery in IPad is garbage, and it is also so had to type anything. I wishe I never bought the ipad, and I wonder if i can turn over my ipad to MSft for exchange for a Surface?
I had to buy a mac book air because the ipad toy can't compute. I plan to buy the Windows 8 Surface when the next version comes out.I know so many people that want their tablets to work for business and pleasure, ipad frustrates us tremendously.
I'm getting one just to be different.
I don't want to be one of those brainwashed drones carrying Apple products.
Plus I need MS Office computing power more than I need Youtube or Angry Birds!!!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
An 11.6" Ivy Bridge laptop can be found that weighs about two pounds. But the 11.6" screen size is not most popular so there is 12.5" and 13.3".
And 10.1" Clover Trail tablets will be available shortly. That's an Intel processor at 3 watts power consumption and the full Windows OS.
Then I am just totally unimpressed with the convertible PC's and with the ARM tablets. I don't need a convertible because I have a desktop at home. I don't need an ARM tablet because I have an ARM mobile phone that does the same thing.
We are thinking about using them in our warehouse because they are easier than a Windows CE, Android, or Apple device to code to...and because of the USB port you can hook a scanner to them. My initial hesitation was drivers for the scanner on the RT but after yesterday's presentation that doesn't look like a problem. Printer support also looks excellent as well which is a big bonus in a networked environment.
