By The Numbers: Is Windows 8 Dead On Arrival In The Enterprise?

Google it. Article is on Forbes.

Interest in migrating to W8 is substantially lower than it was for W7 at the same point in its cycle. Interest in W7 or W8 on a tablet is lower than for other OS's combined. Interest in migrating to an operating system other than Windows is small but has doubled since W7.

    • MS has Windows RT on ARM and Windows 8 on Intel Tablets. Now all they need to do is announce support for Windows 7 and then allow computer makers to use a tag that recommends either Windows 8 or Windows 7.

      So what's happening ?

At a presenation in Silicon Valley, SB said:

MS is all-in with Windows 8. (Meaning that the executive that left wasn't.)

Innovation comes from the top. (This is MBA science where the personnel at the top declare themselves to be the most important thing.)

Corporate IT decisions are made by the IT department. (Here we know who to buy off but are they really not accountable to the overall corporation ?)

    • The problem with Windows 8 is that no one asked for it or needs it. It is a response to MS revenue needs rather than customer needs.
