Consider this if you actually study the Bible. Satan is an angle, a fallen angle but nonetheless one with great powers to affect the perception of humans, to tempt them, to sway their decisions.
Now which is more likely to destroy lives and kill people to get his way, God or Satan?
Now I realize evangelicals attribute a lot of bad things to acts of God or tests by God, but if they studied the background they would know that God's power is not infinite over Satan for, if it was, Satan would be effectively powerless.
The only logical conclusion is that Satan saw his disciple on a path to losing and sent Sandy to tempt people to vote for something that all evidence to date says is destructive, like that next drink for an alcoholic.
