    Ballmer is an innovator

How would the Surface be selling if it had the Intel Atom processor ?

The only way to find out is to have three Surface. One Surface with an ARM processor and Win RT, another Surface with an Intel Atom processor and Win 8, and finally a Surface with an Intel Ivy Bridge processor and Win 8.

But I like the Samsung ATIV 500T form factor.

In fact the Samsung ATIV 500T is for extra battery life while the Samsung ATIV 700T is for higher performance.

The 500T is in stock at Amazon and at B&H photo. Yes, it will run Photoshop.

    • The correct price for the Samsung ATIV 500T is $750 with optional keyboard. The correct price for the 700T is $1200 with optional keyboard. The 500T is in stock and the 700T will be in stock soon enough.

      • The correct price will be $99 when they hit the bargain bins at Woot.

      • Is this the one where Samsung built into their own duplication of the start menu from past versions of Windows. I remember using one that had that feature. The whole screen is your start menu once you become familiar with the program. You can right click on any website or application and choose pin to start. Then for example When you hit the Windows key (Key on bottom row with the four tiles on key) the program you just pinned will be all the way to the right on screen. Win 8 start screen scrolls horizontally not vertically. You can swipe from the right of the screen inwards and it bring a settings, devices and search choice on the top. If you want to find the control panel type control panel. When the icon appear right click and pin to start. So anything in the old start button can be pinned to the main screen along with the live updating message indicators, breaking headlines, photos, people etc. Your whole world can be right in front of you to simply click on. If you have a Facebook page you can pin the page to the start and then simply click on the tile for a quick view of your messages. It also has a finance tile. So all the old boring stuff that was in the start button can be pinned right to the main screen along with all the new apps (lot's of free apps) just download them by clicking the apps icon. You can't do that on Win7. The look of the page is fresh and clean. Microsoft did a good job with the fonts and apps control to make the experience new looking. Just curious if the machine you are referring to has the old start button simulated from Samsung code?

        Sentiment: Strong Buy
