Why is it that most analysts do not understand this technology? They kept on saying that Surface Pro is a tablet. Surface Pro, for the record, is a hybrid of laptop with full pc function and it ALSO has touchpad capability, due to windows 8 software. It is entirely a different machine and capability. What this does is that it will steal market away from pure laptops and pure touchpads. Why would anyone pay for two things when they can pay less for one device that does both?
Apple worshipers just can't submit to a new dominance, that will take over for the next 5 years.
No you are all wrong. It is a dream come true. I can take it in the car and use it as a tablet for maps, watching stocks, etc. Then if I get hung up somewhere, I can click on Visual Studio 12 and write code on a tablet that may change the world. I can use Adobe Photoshop and work on a photo I need to post to the website. I can open my IPSwitch FTP program and upload a completed web page to My Website Hosting Page. Every time someone calls me and says this does not work on the website or this needs to be changed and I am 100 miles away, I just pull over and open the most powerful programs there are. If you do not need to use a computer to do work more power to you. However, the people that do not get this and how innovative and powerful it really is just won't understand. The people that do get it are going to push strong sales if Mr. Softy lowers the prices. What is that old saying "If you don't like this, something is wrong with you"!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
No it's not a tablet it's an over priced, trying to everything, last gasp for a CEO to get some growth in his company.
It will be a big Fail and WIN 8 is well on it's way to be the biggest fail in MSFT's history.
Do one thing well and people will buy, do many things okay and no one cares. Add an OS that you need to be trained for and................
Sentiment: Strong Sell
"it ALSO has touchpad capability, due to windows 8 software"
Due to w8??? Really???
It has touchpad capability due to engineers and manufacturers that designed, developed and manufactured the touchpad screens and drivers. MS had NOTHING to do with it. w8 software certainly did not have ANY part in driving those creations.
"Apple worshipers just can't submit to a new dominance, that will take over for the next 5 years."
MS fan bois and punk azzzzzed shills just can't accept that MS is once again years behind the curve and unable to compete in the 21st century mobile market. By the time MS catches up to what is going on now there will be something else newer that they will again have ignored until it was too late to be a significant player.
History once again follows in its own footsteps for MS, lather, rinse, repeat...
Sentiment: Strong Sell
you are correct that touchpad technology has always been there but it also has been purely a toy. Windows 8 allows bridging that toy to a fully functional PC or laptop.
I also think that attaching a touchpad to a desktop will not sell but to a mobile device like laptops willl rule and it will bee be the standard.
