"So for a grand total of $1,019 (at the cheapest), Microsoft is only giving you 23 GB of free space. That is a terrible value. If you're going to use the Surface Pro as your primary machine as Microsoft intends users to, even 83 GB of space on the top-of-the-line model is not going to be enough."
How many do you personally own? Please #$%$ until you own one. Then you can do a product review. We don't need MSFT haters hating MSFT products because they are from MSFT. Go buy yourself a Penguin tablet with OpenOffice Nonproductivity Software and give us reviews of that.
Come on, if more space is needed Microsoft will add it. Take a deep breath and relax a little. Do you need me to pitch in $300-$400 for you to be able to afford a Surface Pro? I can help you if that's all this is about? :)
It's not about what *I* can afford, stupid. I have a terabyte of storage on the desktop I'm using now. It's about value for the dollar. A $1K system should allow more free space than that. Microsoft's operating system hogs an inordinate amount of space.
Surface Pro is the only tablet in the market that is touch screen, ligher than 2 lbs, and a full computer. most corportate computers are more than 1000$. a very portable hybrid of laptop/ultrabook/laptop sells for only 1000$. this is a outstanding product at a greta price. thanks to MSFt's leadership, expect corporate purchase of Surface PCs and similar PCs to be massive over coming years!!!!
Sentiment: Strong Buy
I agree with you 100%. As for the remark on my other post I have nothing to do with MSFT. I'm using my IPAD, which has been incredible to own, to write this and am curious to see how the Surface Pro compares. I will dish out the $1000 to find out and I will keep my fingers crossed the Surface Pro is woth the money. In the mean time I guess I will have to put up with the bashers on this site. My Ipad does not allow me to fully utilize my Charles Schwab account so I will test the Surface Pro first to see if I can on that tablet. If so, I make the purchase, if not, I stick with the IPAD. Now bash away people!
The free space is about what you would see on a 40 gig hardrive(23 gig free) or a 120 gig hardrive(83 gig) running Windows 7 It would appear that you know very little about computers and IT eh wotopimp(no surprise eh). if the computers were running sux which is much less productive than windows the free space might be more(as it would be on a sux or IOS tablet) but the loss in productivity would make the TCO prohibitive. Best you take up something you can handle pimp like used cars or cleaning urinnals
I'm looking forward to buying the Surface Pro. Price is not a concern as long as I can open programs using flash and other programs using Java that the Ipad and Kindle Fire hd can not. I don't mind paying extra just for that alone. At first the Surface Pro is not for the masses but soon will be as all the other tablet makers produce similar products thus bringing the price down. Then the choice will be do you want an Apple or Microsoft based tablet. In year or so it will be Android who, what's that? Android will be phased out or combined with Microsoft to compete with Apple. Microsoft is late to the tablet game but the tablet game against Apple is just beginning.

You don't say whether that is true or not. In other words, you don't assert anything.
The rest is groundless speculation about an unknown and unpredictable future.
