Microsoft Research has published an article on a new seamless mobile payment system which utilizes mobile phones and a Kinect sensor, and would mean never having to reach into your pocket for either your wallet or phone.

It looks like it will use Bluetooth to ID your mobile phone and then use the Kinect connection to ID your face at the cash register from some remote database. This provides a two factor authentication to charge the purchase to your handset.
That way if you lose your phone all someone needs is a picture of you and a USB cable or a battery charger to purchase what they want on your account with your carrier. Let me know if you decide to use this. It could be handy ...
