In a moment Bernanke probably wishes he could take back, he specifically mentioned Microsoft (MSFT) stock in the context of bubble-watching, seemingly in an effort to take a benign example of something that has risen in value apparently based on fundamentals and underscoring how difficult it can be to tell the difference between that type of valuation growth and broader bubble-like growth.
He has Microsoft on his mind because they have huge gov. contract and a nice ritzy Bld. in Chevy Chase on the boarder of DC. They provide a securer option than goog. Goog sued the Gov. in Washington, DC claiming they were unfair to giv Microsoft all the contracts. LoL, it is still on his mind because Microsoft seems like the largest tech company in Washington, DC. The pc's are almost entirely Dell, HP & IBM with contract by Microsoft the companies themselves and NetApp. Microsoft has service contracts. It amazes me that there are a lot of investors that think they only sell Windows.
Either that or the Gov. is scared as hell of the Linux based systems since they are almost paranoid now in regards to the Chinese Spying thought to originate from Android phones. It sounds like I am making it up. I am not, and I here this stuff every day. Every time I hear it, I am thinking it sounds like some stuff that would be said on this board. I turn around and it is a high level gov, military or law enforcement saying it. It actually is crazy and they are scrambling to redo their entire IT because everyone is clueless how to tell, what to do, who to call to prevent it, etc. Even the IT people are 100% clueless what to do. So they ask Microsoft.
