A must-read article, called to my attention almost by accident by corneliusflake. Looks like Google is doing again what it has done before. Google isn't painting itself into a corner, it's painting Microsoft into a corner. Google doesn't set out with great fanfare to make an alternative to Microsoft's core products. It does a number of separate things, then closes the circle quietly, and little by little it dawns on us that Microsoft is surrounded, with nowhere to go.
