The MiddleEast on fire because of Obama's ego and arrogance

Mideast: A year after President Obama's "red line" chemical weapons warning, a defiant Syria reportedly kills more than 1,000 with nerve gas. As in Egypt, the president's ego is no substitute for credible U.S. power.

flames are flying in the Mideast in the absence of American strength and prestige after 4-1/2 years of the Obama administration.

Egypt was rock-solid before Obama became president; Libya's Moammar Gadhafi was contained, convinced by the U.S. liberation of Iraq to abandon his nuclear ambitions; Syria was a terror-financing menace, but had been so for decades and was at least predictable.

Then came Obama, stirring the gunpowder with "Change We Can Believe In." The intractable cultural realities of distant lands didn't matter; he arrogantly believed he could talk the world into submission, the way he talked voters into electing him. The global left's elites bought it, hence the Nobel Peace Prize that greeted the launch of his presidency.
