At a company where I am doing some work, they needed some more resources to help with a project. There were 2 individuals that had the background we needed but were currently unemployed for a while. One had lost their house and the other had a car repoed ... Ok, maybe we could help them ... but the company refused to hire them because of a bad credit report ... not any criminal activity .... but Bad Credit.
Researching that a little bit, I now see there are about 10 states that have Banned there employment credit checks ... because they serve no job purpose and eliminate people from work. They say is shows how a person handles their finances and relates to how they might perform ... However, several studies so no correlation.
So, If Bad Credit Shows an Employment Problem ... How About Divorced People ?
On the Background Check there is a public section that shows Divorces. Would you hire a Divorced Person ? Clearly, if they can't manage their own lives and affairs, why do you think they can be trusted to manage a companies affairs ?
Barack Obama has an average unemployment rate of 8.8%, for 55 months, which is the highest average rate since 1948. It is not just high, it is over the +1 sigma limit of 7.5%. He is the ONLY president since 1948 to have that. Obama still has 42 months to go. Maybe he will improve some yet.
Ronald Reagan has next highest average rate with 7.5% for 97 months in office.
By the way, G. W. Bush has an average unemployment rate of only 5.3% for 97 months, which is below the long run average of 5.8%.
