This guy has no vision to lead Microsoft. Pray he's not the choice if we want Microsoft to remain a leader instead of an also ran.
I like Elop - followed his actions as a NOK shareholder, and I agree with you.
MSFT needs someone to get the warring divisions at MSFT working in tandem, and that's Mulally's specialty - he did it at Boeing, and Ford, and I can see him working at MSFT for 3-4 years doing it there. An objective, highly respected and accomplished outsider. He can groom a group of top MSFT execs to work better together, and then retire.
You nailed it. Many say Mulally isnt going to be selected because he has no computer industry experience, but do they think he got to the short list without B.G. and the Board WANTING him to be on the short list??? You are correct in that he exemplifies teamwork. He did it with the "One Ford" plan and as an engineer, he relishes solving problems, like the many at MSFT. I think he is ready to jump if given the call. And as you said , it isn't for Life, it 's until he gets it going straight down the right road . He's the ultimate "Fixer ". All JMHO. GL to all us longs!!
